IP info Detective is a useful tool for those who want to investigate the origin and status of an IP address. With its Private I report feature, you can access detailed information about the IP address in question and make your own conclusions. This can be especially helpful if you need to verify the status of an IP address.

The app utilizes publicly available IP blacklists to compile data and presents it in a user-friendly format, indicating whether the IP address is listed on any of these lists. There are several scenarios where finding an IP on a blacklist can be important. For instance, if your router receives a new dynamic allocated "dirty IP" after a reset, you may not want to browse the web using that IP. Alternatively, if you discover that your IP is mistakenly blacklisted, this app allows you to reach out to the list creator and request removal. If you are a system admin with a large network of computers, scanning the network range may reveal some blacklisted IP addresses, prompting further investigation. These are just a few examples of the app's functionality.

The app gathers information from various sources, such as I-Blocklist, Project Honey Pot, Spamhaus, and others.

Why does the app require these permissions?

Photos/Media/Files:

• Modify or delete the contents of your USB storage
• Test access to protected storage
• Allows the API to cache map tile data in the device's external storage area. This permission is required by Google Maps Android API v2. For more details, please refer to Google's documentation on specifying permissions.

Other:

• Full network access
• View network connections
• android.permission.INTERNET: Used by the API to download map tiles from Google Maps servers.
• android.permission.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE: Allows the API to check the connection status to determine whether data can be downloaded. These two permissions are required by Google Maps Android API v2 and IP info Detective itself.
• Read Google service configuration
• com.google.android.providers.gsf.permission.READ_GSERVICES: Allows the application to access Google web-based services.
